Sofia Pernas was born in Morocco. She came to California at the age of five. Her family lived mainly living in Orange County. The actress got her first big break acting upon graduation from the University of California San Diego, in 2015. Pernas began her acting career by playing tiny roles in NCIS and Leverage. The Young and the Restless gave Pernas the role Marisa. After her exit from the soap-opera Jane the Virgin in 2016, the actress was cast as Catalina the character that was on the show frequently. The actress speaks four languages. She has appeared in The Brave with Hannah Rivera and also The Green Ghost and Secret Society of Second Born Royals. Between 2019 and 2020, she played Lexi Vaziri in Blood & Treasure. Us Weekly confirmed in May 2020 that Pernas is with her former The Young and the Restless co-star Justin Hartley. The romance came following Hartley's This Is Us star split from wife Chrishell Stause in November of this year. Pernas Hartley tied the knot privately with Pernas in the month of May 2021.
